By Casey-Jo Loos
when I want a vacation.
when my brain won't shut off.
when I say "I just don't have time to do nothing."
when I really want to look at myself in a mirror.
when silence is better than bull shit.
when I wanna be a starfish.
when I'm having digestion issues [what about my life needs digesting?].
when I don't want to go.
when I don't want to let go.
when I don't want to be still.
when I feel too many demands of the world.
when I wanna get loos[e].
when I find myself not being as present as I can be in my daily life.
when I want to stretch out in the blank canvas of creativity.
when I want deeper introspection.
when airplane mode isn't enough.
when I want to float my thoughts away and leave them in the tank [don't worry, there's three filtration processes ].
when I need to next-level observe and address my ego.
when my body is begging to release tension.
when I want to wipe off the fog and hit the reset.
when my core knows I've lost my centre.
when I'm centred in the wrong centre.
when I want a zen filter on my real-life.
when I want to disconnect in a healthy way to reconnect.
when I want to hang out with the one who knows me best.
keep your diamonds, my body is best encrusted in salt.

What’s happening to your brain when you float? How do you go from being awake, conscious, and stressed to relaxed and dreamy? While we still have a lot to discover when it comes to different states of consciousness, one key element is the “Theta State,” when our brain waves operate at a certain frequency most often linked to the moments between sleep and wakefulness. To really understand what the Theta State is and how it benefits us, we have to first explore a little bit about brain waves more broadly.
