Massage FAQs
What is the difference between Massage and RMT Massage?
Both are full 60-minute, full-body massages in a private room. Massage ($100) is performed by practitioners building their hours toward RMT registration and is not eligible for insurance. Registered Massage Therapy ($140) is performed by Registered Massage Therapists and qualifies for direct insurance billing. The main difference is practitioner certification and insurance eligibility.
Is Massage covered by insurance?
No. The $100 Massage is performed by RMT students and practitioners in training, so it is not eligible for insurance reimbursement. If you want to claim through your extended health plan, choose Registered Massage Therapy.
Is Registered Massage Therapy covered by insurance?
Yes. RMT massage is performed by Registered Massage Therapists and qualifies for direct billing with most major insurance plans. We bill your plan at the time of your appointment. Confirm your provider at info@floathouse.ca before booking.
Who performs the $100 Massage?
Skilled practitioners building their supervised hours toward becoming Registered Massage Therapists, along with trained massage practitioners. You get a full 60-minute massage at an accessible price.
Can I combine massage with float, sauna, or hot-cold?
Yes. Massage + Recovery ($150) pairs a 60-minute Massage with one Recovery Credit you can use for a Float, Hot-Cold, or Infrared Sauna session, all under one roof in Gastown.
How does the Recovery Membership work?
For $129 a month you get one Massage and one Recovery Credit every month. Use your Recovery Credit for a Float, Hot-Cold, or Infrared Sauna session, whatever your body needs that month. It is built to be a monthly recovery ritual.
Do credits roll over?
No. Your monthly Massage and Recovery Credit are meant to be used within the month, so there is no rollover. The membership works best when recovery is a regular part of your routine.
