Derek Juno is the VP of Business Development for the social enterprise, Mealshare. Mealshare offers a buy-one, give-one hunger relief program that takes place in restaurants. Mealshare has over 250 restaurant partners across Canada and has been able to provide over 500,000 meals to those in need! In 2015, Mealshare won the “Community Impact Award” from Small Business BC and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. 

Derek grew up in Victoria, BC and graduated from UVic with a BCOM and a specialization in Entrepreneurship. He was recently recognized at his business school’s 25-year anniversary ceremony as one of the Top 25 Alumni To Watch. He is a life long learner, athlete, and volunteer and has been very committed to social and environmental issues his whole life. Derek has taught English in Cambodia, scuba dived with sharks in the Galapagos islands, hiked the tallest mountain in Indo-China, walked along side Komodo dragons in Indonesia, surfed with dolphins in Australia, and built houses for those in need in Mexico. He is extremely passionate about motivational speaking and thoroughly enjoys inspiring others to make their world a better place and to have as much fun as possible while doing it.
