MARK GILBERT

Mark has quite a diverse background as a Director, Surfer, yoga teacher, father and investor/consultant. He is currently an investor of Yyoga and Nectar Juicery!

Mark Gilbert is a regular yoga practitioner, avid surfer, gnarly skier and, most importantly, the father of two awesome kids. His is also an established director around the world, recognized for creating breakthrough commercials for the likes of IKEA, MasterCard, Pepsi, Kia and 7-UP.

The British-born Canuck graduated with a BA from the University of Western Ontario before finding his groove on the court as a semi-professional tennis player, later trading in his forehand for a year sabbatical through Morocco, Cuba, Nepal and Thailand.

Compelling portraits captured during his travels led Mark to assignments with high profile magazines such as National Geographic, Travel and Leisure, GQ and Elle, shots collecting a number of prestigious prizes including nods at The One Show and Communication Arts.

Mark then parlayed his photographic success into directing full time, where he has since carved out captivating commercials full of amusement, wit and wry humor for agencies including BBH, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Mother and DDB. Awards on the ad scene include Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase in Cannes, D&ADs, Clios and Andys.

Mark is deeply passionate about the environment and health issues, parlaying his know-how from the global world of advertising through investment and consultation services for fitness brands including Yyoga and Nectar Juicery, plus eco-friendly companies such as Tesla and Solar City.
